• We recently added some new children's kits from Dale: 20403 with elephants, 20904 with fish, and 20905 with more fish. Cute and fun designs to knit.
• I've added a couple more Sandnes kits, one for a lady's cardigan and one for a unisex pullover, both nice classic designs. Sandnes has greatly reduced the number of colors available in Peer Gynt, unfortunately. The colors shown for the lady's cardigan were originally Peer Gynt colors which are no longer available.
• Due to the increase in the cost of Dale yarn, I have been updating the pricing on all the Dale kits. Also, I have been revising the kits that called for Tiur to substitute Falk. It's not possible to make exact matches of the colors, but I will do my best on this.
• I've added some new shawl kits:
  • Mabon, a triangular shawl
  • Imbolic, a triangular shawl
  • Marakesh, a triangular shawl
  • Calleach, a rectangular shawl that is narrower at the ends and becomes wider at the center
  • Red Rose, a triangular shawl with a simple all over pattern and an interesting border design
  • Fern, a triangular shawl
  • Summersday, a triangular shawl
  • Fairy Wings, a triangular shawl

  I have a lot of new shawl patterns and will be addng more kits as time allows.

• The biggest news concerns Dale of Norway patterns. All new patterns issued by Dale will be in electronic form and will be free to ownload when the yarn is purchased. They will no longer be printing pattern books. When you order a kit from one of these books I will send you a link so you can download the pattern. The books in question so far are book 8501 the Commemorative Collection, book 213 Vancouver, two books of patterns for children 2 to 6: 204 Mini, 209 Akvariat,, two books of accessories: 219 Tilbehor, and 211. I will be adding others as they become available. Books already in print will continue to be offered for sale as long as they are available.
• Other news is that the yarn division of Dale of Norway has become a separate company from the Dale ready-wear division. One result of this corporate change has been an increase in the cost of the yarn, unfortunately.
• We'll be offering some new kits from the new electronic books soon.

• Back by popular demand is #7902, Melbu, adult pullover from book 79.

• We are adding a new Dale yarn to your group of kits. The yarn, Lerke, is a soft, beautiful blend of cotton and merino that has been extremely popular in Norway.
• To go along with the new yarn, we have a new baby kit from baby book 210. This sweet set is easy and quick to knit on size 3 and 3.5mm needles.

• A new kit for a throw pillow with Aran-style cabling and patterns.
• Vancouver is the Norwegian Ski Team sweater for the 2010 Winter Olympics. This design comes with patterns for adults in two yarn weights, children, and babies.

Discontinued yarn notice:

• Stork by Dale of Norway has been discontinued. Sandnes Mandarin Petit is a good substitute, if you want to knit babyware in cotton.

New Books

• Dale book 207 Retro - Updated traditional designs to knit in Ara, Falk, Free Style, Heilo, and Lerke.
• Vancouver 2010, Dale of Norway Norwegian ski team commemorative sweater. This new design, similar to recent designs, has adult patterns in Heilo/Falk and Women's designs in Daletta. The book also includes socks, mittens, caps headbands, patterns for babies, children, and adults, also a bunting and pants for babies.Each colorway features three colors.

New Shawls:

• Ostara - a rectangular beaded shawl from Goddess Knits.
• Faroese Shawl from HeartStrings to knit in DK weight yarn.

New Sweaters from Dale of Norway

• A classic waist-length lady's fairisle cardigan
• From book 44 (long out of print) a unisex pullover with reindeer design.

We have some new shawls for you and have brought back a lovely child's sweater from Dale of Norway, Victoria. This design also would fit a smaller woman who could wear a sweater 41" around the chest.

New shawls are from Goddess Knits, Queen Anne's Lace and HeartStrings.

• Fern, a triangular shawl
• Mandala, a beautiful circular shawl with a variety of patterns that can be used in the order you like.
• Elemental Changes Shetland Stole, a very pretty rectangular shawl that can be knitted in several sizes.
• Marrakesh - another triangular shawl from Goddess Knits.
• Eala - a Shetland shawl with a center panel and shoulder shaping for better fit.

We've added three beautiful patterns from the past:

• Skipool '90 the design for the 1990 Norwegian ski team
• A classic women's cardigan from book 79 (7909)
• A great pullover with a moose design on the front (7911)

• Another kit from book 8501, Lake Louise 2001. This is a great sweater for Canadians with the maple leaf prominent in the patterning.

We just received four very exciting new pattern books from Dale of Norway:

• Book 8501 contains five sweaters designed by Dale for the Canadian national ski team between 2001 and 2005. These beautiful designs are in the tradition of Dale's other Olympic designs and it's wonderful to see them added to their line of patterns.
• Book 197 is another in the series of Dale's beautiful baby books.
• Book 202 contains "Liberec," Dale's 2009 sweater for the Norwegian National Ski Team. This attractive design is knit in just two colors for the adult patterns. These designs have raglan shoulders and the woman's pattern is to be knit in Daletta. The unisex patterns are to knit in Heilo or Falk. The kids' and baby sizes feature additional colors in the cuffs and neckband.
• Book 8701 features patterns for four Christmas stockings.
• We also added a couple of kits from older books: Lake Placid and Mt Rose. We hope you like them!
• We've added a sweet little baby cardigan in the Bohus style.

• Dale of Norway has a couple of new books, 8403 and 8307. Book 8304 contains 13 patterns for men, women and children for Free Style, Ara, Daletta, Stork Falk/Heilo, Lerke, Hubro, From book 8403 we have added a really pretty new fairisle kit with a round yoke, options of long or short length, crew or turtle neck, and embroidery.

• Two baby sets from the past: 8105 and 8106. We hope you like them!

• After receiving a request, we've just added two adult sweaters from dale book 79 - 7901, the Polar Bear sweater, and 7904. We hope you like them.
• We've added couple of lovely baby set from older Dale books. One includes a pullover, cap, socks, pants, and a cardigan. The other includes a pullover and cap. You'll love them!
• We have a whole bunch of new shawl patterns and kits for you. There is one from Fiddlesticks Knitting, a beautiful rectangular wrap called Arabesque. We love their designs. The patterns are clearly written and the charts are big and easy to read.
• We have eight new shawl kits from Goddess Knits. They are of varying difficulty and offer quite a choice in styles from circular, triangular, top-down, bottom up. Here's the list: Autumn Blaze, Sweetheart, Spring Garden, Petticoat, Midsummer, Dracula's Bride, Beltane, and Desert Sun. There's sure to be something there for everyone.

• Three new pattern books from Dale of Norway: Family Book 8402 with nine designs for kids 2 to 14 as well as young adults. This book is full of spring designs to knit in Svale, Stork, Daletta, and Falk. $14.00. Konfekt Book 187 with nine designs plus accessories for women. $15.00. Adult Book 8305 has six designs for women including pullovers, cardigans, vests and a bag to be knit in Dale's new tweed yarn, Harlequin. $11.00.
• Several new kits from Dale of Norway: From book 187, the complete set 18702 which includes a cardigan, skirt, belt, and two caps. All can be purchased separately. A short cardigan with 3/4 sleeves 18701.

• Three new kits from Brown Sheep: Mosaic Color Weave Pullover and Vest and Sweetheart, a little girl's dress. All to knit in Cotton Fleece.

• From Dale book 180, 18007, a raglan turtleneck pullover with fairisle patterning. This new sweater is slimmer than many of the traditional Dale patterns. Available in your choice of colors.

• New Dale kits from book 189, Anniversary Design 2008. This features sweaters for men, women and Children. Book 189 can be purchased separately for $12.50.
• We've brought back a couple of classic Dale designs: Narvik and Beito.

• A new pattern book from Dale, number 182, with five classic designs by Therese Chynoweth.
• Four new Dale kits for Heilo. We will offer them in the Heilo colors shown or any of the colors available in Falk. 18201, 18203, 18204 and 18205.

• Dale has just issued six new pattern books: 176 Dale Mini with patterns for ages 2 to 8, 177 with patterns for ages 8 to 14, 178 Cafe youthful designs including accessories in a variety of yarns, 8302 Crochet Accessories, 8303 Quick & Easy Accessories, and 8304 Wraps, Caps & Scarves
• We have added a new kit from book 178, a closer-fitting fairisle cardigan.

• We are very excited to be able to offer several new designs from SandnesGarn of Norway. The designs we have added are all for a fingering-weight yarn called Sisu. Sisu also is ideal for socks.
  The new designs include one adult/child pullover, five women's cardigans and patterns for mittens, gloves, and socks. We hope you like them as much as we do.
  We also have several Sandnes pattern books.

• We are sorry to report that Dale is discontinuing Tiur. Tiur has been a big success for us with lots of very nice pattern designs. We will continue to offer the kits as long as we can get the yarn and afterward we will offer them in Falk. If you really like Tiur, order now as it is no longer being manufactured and it will soon be sold out.
